What To Expect During Your Treatment
Reflexology treatments are normally given on a treatment table or in a special chair and generally take about one hour. Your reflexologist will begin by reviewing your medical history, discussing your current concerns and developing a treatment plan with you.
You may experience some sensitivity or mild discomfort in places, but this passes quickly and is an indication of congestion or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body. For the most part, the treatment is pleasant and relaxing.
After Your Treatment
Everyone has a different healing response to reflexology. You may experience some physical or emotional changes over the following 24 hours but your reflexologist will advise you about these possible reactions and self-care.
Reflexology works best with treatments in quick succession. To create the changes in your body and provide the support you need, we recommend at least 3 treatments in 3 weeks.

Reflexology
Reflexology is based on the principle that certain parts of the body reflect the whole. Reflex points, which relate to all parts of the body, are found in the feet, hands, face and ears. These respond to pressure and stimulate the body's own natural healing processes to better health.
Modern reflexology demands the practitioner has received thorough training in anatomy, physiology and clinical medicine. This ensures the reflexologist understands the body and its dysfunctions and can work effectively with and interpret the results of other health care professionals.
This western influence and the positive results so often achieved have resulted in reflexology becoming increasingly supported by professionals in mainstream medicine and is in widespread use in areas such as palliative care, midwifery and aged care.
